Money Makeovers is a new Business established by myself Nick Howard,
a person with twenty years of social care experience working at all
levels in the voluntary sector and with a strong sense of
social
entrepreneurship.
The idea for the business came from a number of experiences
including my contact with "professional independent financial advisers"
(IFA's), research on money saving on the Internet and on becoming a
House husband the need to re-examine my own household finances.
It was clear to me that many people needed a service that offered transparency
to consumers in a society that has become increasingly mired in deliberate
confusion as a form of marketing. This confusion is designed to benefit company's
that are often offering products and services which we have no choice but
to purchase e.g. Gas and Electricity. In the last ten years the Finance
Industry in particular has been rocked by successive scandals that have
involved the mis-selling of products and services by IFA's, Banks, Insurance
and Credit Card companies.
Most recently we have been plunged into a recession triggered by the
irresponsible behaviour of financial institutions that we are increasingly
reliant upon. Individuals and Family's are more and more needing to examine
where there money goes and ensure that they garner the most value from it.
Money Makeovers offers a service to those people who don't have the time to
examine their household finances and tackle the enormous amounts of
information faced in completing the task or would rather have the
convenience of knowing that it wont "cost" (see Price Section)
them anything and will likely save them large amounts of money.
